Double page spread draft

This is the first draft of the double page spread in the magazine. I have used this image as it separates the page perfectly and creates a dark background which i can contrast the writing with. I have changed the colour of the image to black and white as this fits in with the house style of the magazine. The black and white image contrasts with the colours used for the text and titles which makes them stand out. I have made the title of the page yellow as this fits in with the house style used on the contents page. This creates synergy between all of the pages on the magazine. I have included a pull quote which is positioned next to the image which gives the reader a taste of what is included in the article without reading the whole article. The pull quote is blue as this differs from the main article and also stands out from the black background. I have included the masthead of the magazine on the double page spread as this is a common feature on double page spreads. My inspiration, Empire magazine, use this feature on their double spreads.

On the first draft of the double page spread i had a question and answer section instead of a main article. This is not a typical convention of a film magazine and made the page look less professional therefore i changed it to a main article which made the page look more organized and fit in with the typical conventions of a film magazine. I have also added the page numbers as i did not include them in the first draft. I have used a small text and basic font for the page numbers as they should not stand out on the page however the readers should be able to read them. Including page numbers is a typical convention of a magazine which i why i have included them to make my magazine look as professional as possible.
